Hundreds of people in Lathitila, Dumabari, Boraibari areas in Mancachar district came out of their homes venting anger against the political parties and organizations alleging their silence.
Rup Debin Boraibari told Assam Times, “Not even a political leader, social activist has visited us to get the pulse.”
Ismail Hussain in Boraibari said,” they are playing politics over the issue leaving us in the lurch.”
“We are not informed. We have lost our land. But the people in power and out of power are least bothered,” Salmu Myan told Assam Times in Dumabari.
At the stork of Friday midnight the state’s geographical map underwent a sensational charge.
A huge plot of land covering 116 enclave has gone to Bangladesh nearly one month after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikha Hasina signed the land swap deal.
A high level delegation from Dhaka started implementing the pact on Friday where 15,000 people from Bangladesh got Indian citizenship in Assam alongwith West Bengal, Meghalaya, and Tripura.
