Roof Top Gardening workshop on July 16

The Directorate of Horticulture & Food Processing, Assam (DHFP,Assam) has planned to promote Roof Top Gardening in Assam with a planned manner. Initially, the Directorate has organized a Workshop cum Seminar on Roof Top Gardening to be held on July 16 at the Auditorium of Krishak Niwas, Directorate of Agriculture Campus, Assam, Khanapara, Guwahati. Interested participators are requested to apply in plain paper with detail address, mobile no., e-mail address etc. to the Director of Horticulture and Food Processing, Assam, Khanapara, Guwahati-22 on or before July 15. The selection of the participants will be made on first come first chance basis. Assam joined the World Food Day on Monday commemorating the founding of Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) in 1945. The agriculture department steps up measures to firmly deal with the army worms which wreak huge havocs in many parts of the state. In a letter to District Agricultural Officers and other officials, the department said that army worms or swarming caterpillars have manifested in different areas of the State. Steps like deployment of spraying squads in affected areas have been directed.
