Girls rescued; 2 traffickers held

Despite a set of stringent measures women trafficking refuses to die down in the state. A circle of girls are still taken outside the state luring lucrative jobs by the traffickers in New Delhi, UP, Haryana.

Police arrested a perosn along with a woman for trying to rush two girls to Kishanganj on Wednesday. Before that Railway police rescued two girls from Paltanbazar on the way to Bihar and Chhattisgarh on Wednesday. Acting on a tip off from a non governmental organization Gold, railway police rescued three girls from Sivasagar from Kamrup Express in the wee hours.

Hailing from Kanubari area in Sivasagar district, the two girls confessed to have agreed to leave for Haryana at the instance of two youths who promised them good jobs. Police investigation is going on.
