2 ULFA cadres arrested

Security forces apprehended two hardcore cadres of the ULFA(I) from Dongagaon village under Bijni police station of Chirang district of Western Assam, early this morning and recovered huge arms and cash money.

Security forces belonging from Assam Police and Army conducted a joint operation against the ULFA (I) since last night and manage to apprehend two hardcore cadres of the militant outfit along arms and cash money from Dongagaon village under Bijni police station of Chirang district of Western Assam early this morning.

The cadres were identified as Girin Roy @ Ringku Das and Dipu Roy.

One AK-56 Riffle, 103 live rounds of AK-56, 11 rounds of 0.45 pistol, three magazine, two ammunition bags, cash 3.42 lakhs, demand notes signed by Aurnodoy Dohotiya and 3 mobile handsets were recovered from their possession.

Dipu Roy had surrendered to police in 2009, yet he has been involved with various anti-national activities in the region, a senior police officer said.

The Election Observer for Expenditure for 31-Sidli (ST) LAC Jaginder Singh, IRS on Tuesday arrived at Kajalgaon in Chirang district. BJP leader quits

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday.  Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Basumatary is likely to join ruling BPF party within couple of days, said a close aid of Binati. 

NDFNB(S) ultras held

Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja   of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return. Two pistols along with 4 live rounds, a hand grenade and three mobile phones were recovered from them. Mohit Misahary is a cadre of 39 Batch NDFB and trained in Myanmar.
