Hiranya Bora quits Congress

Amid simmering dissidence inside the Assam Congress, senior leader Hiranya Bora quit the party alleging autocratic style of functionings by Anjan Dutta.

Bora, senior leader and former Dhekiajuli MLA sent his resignation letter to party president Sonia Gandhi dropping a number of complaints against the state party president.

Later addressing a press conference at his residence in the morning, a visibly emotional Bora said that he tried to tolerate for the last several decade. Bora, along with five other got notice from the party leadership for anti party activities.
