Sal logs seized

ecurity firces belonging to Police and CRPF Cobra team seized a truck carrying illegal Sal logs from Alangi area under Kokrajgar police ststion of  Kokrajhar district today.

The truck bearing registration number  AS-01A 7434 carrying Sal logs was on way to Kalgachia in Barpeta from Athiabari in Kokrajhar district when it was seized by the joint team.

Four persons were arrested along with the truck. They have been identified as Mohd Sukur Ali, Ismail Ali of Sorbhog Jamadarguri , Barpeta, Binamin Rabha and Dhananjay Rabha, both of Serfanguri Prem Nagar, Kokrajhar.

A senior forest official in Haltugaon Division said the sal worth around 10 lakhs rupees in market.

The Mwihur International Theatre Festival has ended in Kokrajhar, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The seven-day festival took place at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari. The United People’s Party(UPP) candidate  for Kokrajhar east Pratibha Brahma filed nomination papers to the Returing Officer at DC office in Kokrajhar on Monday. NDFB-S ultra held

Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. Based on information about the presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched an operation where a listed cadre of Gossaigaon platoon of the NDFB(S) was arrested along with arms. He was identified as Sanjay Narzary of Borsabil village. A pistol, two round ammunition was recovered from him.

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party.
