Terror shadow: Red alert in NE

The Centre sounds red alert in the entire north eastern region apprehending terror strike to counter the intensified counter insurgency operation in Myanmar.
The Union home ministry is believed to have received inputs suggeting that a huge group of north east insurgents have sneaked into the region from across the Indo-Myanmar border to escape the army operation in the neighburing country.
Security forces are fanning along the international border to flush out the terror elements after suspected NSN-K insurgents killed at least 25 army personnel in three deadly attacks in Manipur during the last two months.
This has forced the army to launch an intensified operations along the Indo-Myanmar border where army claimed to have killed dozens of insurgents on the soil of Myanmar.

DTP systems distributed in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar:  About twenty women entreprenurs were given away desktop publishing (DTP) system in Kokrajhar on Tuesday. BTC executive member Rajib Brahma handed over the DTP and some other materials among the beneficiaries in the presence huge attended gathering.

The DTP  systems were given away from the SC development Corporation of the state government. Chairman of the Kokrajhar SC development board Sanjoy Majumder told that the beneficiaries are selected by development board to proivide computer based service and social upliftment in the area.

Police officer arrested for firing incident

A police officer was arrested in Morigaon district on Sunday after his vehicle collided with another car and he fired at the crowd which gathered at the spot.

According to information, Bhaktiram Kakoty, a circle inspector, was caught by the public at Moirabari town in the afternoon after his car crashed into another vehicle.

Kakoty then fired into the crowd before he was overpowered by the public and handed over to the police.

KPLT militant killed in gunfight

Security forces claimed to have killed a hardcore KPLT leader in Karbi Anglong district on Wednesday.

\According to sources, the militant was killed at an encounter inside the dense forest of Nambar in the wee hours.

One AK-56 rifle and a huge cache of ammunition was recovered during the encounter.
