Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the political will and mutual confidence will help India and Bangladesh improve border management and check cross border crimes.
Addressing a joint press conference with his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka, Modi said the boundary settlement make the borders more safe secured.
“Our Parliament's approval of Land Boundary Agreement reflects the consensus in India on relations with Bangladesh.
Connectivity is the catalyst for deeper engagement,” said Modi.
Modi further said the deal between the two nations will also open new economic doors for the North eastern region..
Modi observed, “the decision to allow transit of power equipment and food-grain to the Northeast echoes the strength of your human values and our shared economic opportunities. As the three agreements on human trafficking, fake Indian currency and maritime safety show, our security cooperation is growing.”
