The Northeast Frontier Railways on Sunday cancelled ten trains a day after the two coaches Siphung passenger train fell on a river near Kokrajhar. NFR officials told Assam Times that works are on to restore the damaged portion of the bridge forcing them to cancel ten trains including Kamakhya-Alipurduar Siphung express, Mariani-Guwahati passenger train, New Jalpaiguri-Dekargaon passenger train.
These trains would be restored from Tuesday.
Tensions escalated in Manipur’s violence-hit Jiribam district on Sunday night as clashes between security forces and protesters turned deadly, officials reported.
