Hepatitis B vaccination camp concludes

Over 65 media persons with their spouses joined in a fresh Hepatitis B vaccination camp organized by Dispur Hospital at Guwahati Press Club on 11 May 2015. The camp started at 11 am and continued till 1 pm.

According to the experts, the Hepatitis B virus affects the human liver and may cause liver cancer and liver cirrhosis. It can cause both acute and chronic infections. It is transmitted through blood and infected bodily fluids. Statistics reveal that over 750,000 people die of hepatitis B each year in the world.

The second (and final) dose of the Hepatitis B vaccine will be given on 11 June 2015 at the press club starting from 11 am (till 1 pm), which is advised necessary for completion of the vaccination process.
