108 mows down student

Nabani Wary, a Class XI student of Tukrajhar HS School, village Berengchigury, district Chirang was run over by a speeding ambulance on April 30. Nabani was going to school when a 108 mowed her down. School authorities immediately rushed her to the Bongaigaon Civil Hospital but to no avail. On May 1 Nabani succumbed to the fatal accident about 10 am.

The Bengtol unit of the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) condemned the incident and called it unfortunate. Speaking to Assam Times the unit said that the government must initiate appropriate steps to compensate the family of the deceased as soon possible. “We are with the family in their bereaved moments to aid them as necessary,” said the unit.
