APCC gets tougher with Haque

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee is likely to take strict action against Mohibul Haque alleging his controversial role in a protest march in Dhubri district over the mysterious death of 14 labourers at Latumbai in Meghalaya.

Sources told Assam Times that APCC has served a show-cause notice to the former minister and AMTRON chairman giving him two days’ time to explain his position in this regard.

It was alleged that the people who hit the streets under Haque’s leadership shouted anti-India slogans. A section of the protesters further were seen waving the banner of the Dhubri Zila Unnayan Parishad led by Haque.

The protesters shouted anti-India slogans in full view of Haque much to the major embarrassment of the ruling party.
