Gogoi promises Moghai Oja award

The Assam government is in a process to institute a new award in a bid to promote Assamese culture. To be named after Moghai Oja, the award aims at popularising the music of Moghai Oja among the world audience.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi announced it at a function in Jorhat on Monday calling him the real pioneer of integration. Gogoi announced that the government would organise the centenary celebrations of the birth of Moghai Oja across the state.
