The Assam Pradesh Congress will wait for Aiddique Ali Ahmed’s reply till Wednesday on his allegations against chief minister Tarun Gogoi on the Dimapur incident.
Sources told Assam Times that the former minister has nothing at his hand to substantiate his allegations against Gogoi and that all he did at the instance of another former cabinet minister.
If Siddique fails to properly respond to it by Monday the party leadership is ready to initiate disciplinary action against him, a senior party leader told Assam Times.
Notably, Ahmed who lost his job because of dissidence sprung surprise on Sunday revealing that he apprised the chief minister of the possible mob attack on Farid Khan inside the Dimapur jail. He further claimed to have asked Gogoi to take up the matter with his Nagaland counterpart which Gogoi negated. He said had Gogoi listened to him Farid could have been saved.
