The Dimapur incident that sends shock and anger across the north eastern region has reached the Gauhati High Court.
The court has issued directives to the Centre and Nagaland government asking for adequate security inside and outside the jails to avoid the March 5 like situation where a rape accused was dragged out of the Dimapur Central Jail to be lynched on the street.
The court directive was issued acting on a public interest litigation moved by Rajib Kalita on Monday. a division bench of the court further asked the Nagaland government and Centre to submit a report before it.
Kalita in his PIL further sought a CBI probe into the entire incident to be monitored by the court.
