The Assam government felt the heat of the Dimapur incident on the floor of the House on Monday.
Much to a major surprise, Congress legislator Siddeque Ahmed on Sunday disclosed to have informed chief minister Tarun Gogoi that he had prior information on the incident on March 5.
Ahmed further claimed to have requested Gogoi to take up the matter with the Nagaland government.
He alleged that Gogoi denied the possibility which was why the incident took place. Thus, he blamed it all on the chief minister.
Trouble erupted on the floor as soon as the Opposition MLAs demanded a clarification from the government over the statement of Siddeque Ahmed.
The government spokesman Rockybul Hussain, however, said there is no need for a statement as the government had taken all necessary steps over the incident.
Assembly Speaker Pranab Gogoi, however, ruled that the government should write to the central government to verify whether there was any prior information about the jail break incident and subsequent killing of Syed Farid Khan.
