Caught in an escalating protest against killing of Syed Farid Khan in Dimapur on Friday, Nagaland on Sunday blocked SMS and internet to disallow violence from spreading in the interstate border.
Official sources told Assam Times that the SMS and internet services have been blocked for 36 hours. They observed that SMS and internet have been fuelling the agitation in the Assam-Nagaland interstate border areas.
The SMS and internet would resume only at 6 in the evening on Monday. If need be, the authority would extend the period, they said.
