The Assam government is fully prepared to deal with the swine flu outbreak. This was what health minister Dr Nazrul Islam told the Assam Assembly on Wednesday after the state registered five cases of H1N1 outbreak.
According to Dr Islam, five persons have tested positive adding that the infection is not serious in nature.
Responding to query in the Zero hours, the minister said that the infected persons - three in Dibrugarh and one in Guwahati have not been admitted to the hospital. Of them, four are civilians and one is an Army man.
Dr Islam said,”"the government is fully prepared to deal with any situation. We have enough stock of medicines. The ICU and isolation units in hospitals are ready,”
