Hours after BJP Pradyut Bora pulled out of BJP, its Assam unit said that it would not have any impact in the party’s prospect.
Senior party leaders told Assam Times that Bora had hardly any contact with the mass and that he spends mostly outside the state.
A senior party leader alleged that the the part’s national executive member never aired his grievances before the leadership and that he was wrong to have gone to ventilate his grievances with Facebook, twitters and press statements.
“His problem is with Himanta Biswa Sarma who is believed to have reached BJP leadership to join the party. There is no decision of the kind. Without examining the particulars of a person, our party won’t allow anybody to join here. If Bora thinks so he is wrong,” a senior party leader from Assam told Assam Times in New Delhi.
“Had these allegations been raised before the party leadership he would have received a satisfactory reply from us. But he was averse to listen to us,” said another senior party leader who refused to be named.
Notably, Bora shot off his resignation letter to the party president on Wednesday after ten years of his association with the party.
When the IIM graduate revealed Himanta Biswa Sarma’s move to join BJP, Party president Siddharth Bhattacharya said that the party is open for all. Nagaon MP Rajen Gohain was quick to support Bhattachaya saying that Dr Sarma has yet to be convicted by the court of law.
