Security forces captured seven KPLT militants during a joint operation in Karbi Anglong on Monday.
According to reports, acting on a tip off Police and the army launched a combing operation from Sunday midnight at Amring forest area in the Hamren subdivision where the dreaded militants were hiding.
The militants initially started firing upon the security forces. But later all they were held.
These include chief Sunder Dera, deputy commander in chief Danger Ingti and the Socheng and Amring area commanders.
Security forces further claimed to have seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition during the operation.
