Caught in a crucial stage a CRPF constable from Silchar surrendered before Indore police on Tuesday after he was accused of molesting, blackmailing and extorting money from a woman.
Indore policemen have been waiting for their Assam counterparts to take Sant Kumar in their custody a day after the 147 Battalion of CRPF jawan surrendered before the police at Hira Nagar police. A team of Assam police is on the way to Indore on Wednesday take Kumar on transit remand.
Hira Nagar police had lodged a case under Sections 354C, 384, 506, 120B and 34 of IPC and Section 66 of Information and Technology Act against the duo on November 7 acting on the complaint of 28-year-old woman.
Kumar allegedly mounted pressure on her to withdraw the case, failing which he would commit suicide, cause harm to her and her relatives in Indore.
she befriended the CRPF constable Sant Kumar on Facebook two years back to be followed by making sleazy video at a Lucknow hotel. The accused extorted Rs 2.5 lakh from her in subsequent months.
