Despite round-the clock vigil, suspected ULFA militants exploded two low-intensity in Digboi amid the Republic Day celebration in the oil town on Monday.
Police officials told Assam Times that the low intensity explosions took place early in the morning near a railway track which were planted under a heap of garbage. There is however, no report of any damage.
Security forces arrived in the spot and investigations are in progress. The explosions took place hours before the national flag was hoisted in the oil town.
