Beeline for ticket in BPF office

Aspirant candidates from ruling BPF party for BTC election slated to beld held on last week of March next were saw beeline to the party head office along the JD Road to get party ticket and submitted applications today in Kokrajhar. 

A total of 19 aspirant candidates submitted applications seeking party tickets for the council election from several constituencies including Banargaon,Dotma,Salakati,Bhaukungri, in Kokrajhar district and Koklabari,Dihira,Baganpara and Mushalpur from Baksa district.

The president of BPF Hagrama Mohilary on January 20 said that this time the party will induct at least 10-15 fresh candidates in the ensuing BTC election to be held in the last week of March. He had said some of the public representatives were not performed as what the people wanted.  After his announcement, the party workers in the grass roots have been doing their arithmetic to choose their candidate. In many constituencies,the block level leaders of the party sought replacements of existing representatives.

Aspirant candidates and supporters of the party are rushing to the party office to get party ticket to contest the election and 19 application was reached to party head office submitted by the Block level,said a senior party official.

Narayan Chandra Basumatary, president of Kokrajhar district BPF said that this year, the numbers of ticket applicants are far more than the previous years. He said it was a good significant for party as everybody have rights to place their demand.  He also said the disbursement of ticket to right candidate is up to the party high command.  He also said the applications were received on the basis of rules and regulation of the party.

Mono Kumar Brahma, the existingexecutive member of BTC of Banargaon constituency after submitted his application along with hundreds of supporters said before the media persons that he is going to contest this time too from Banargaon for third time. He said he had strong supporters and his victory is beyond doubt. He also said that he was hopeful of getting party ticket. He further said the BPF under Hagrama Mohilary will sweep the BTC election and form the government under which he also wants to work for the welfare of the people.

On the other hand, a strong contender from the same constituency Rajiv Brahma, who is also for front leader of Ex-BLT Welfare Society has also submitted application seeking party ticket. Rajiv has been working overtime for public mobilization in many places. Now, it is up to the party high command to whom he prefer to issue ticket.

In Dotma constituency, five aspirant candidates including existing MCLA Indra Mahan Brahma submitted application to party high command seeking ticket. A fresh intending candidate from Serfanguri area Bibhuti Borgoyary also submitted application for ticket. Borgoyayary said he was optimistic for getting ticket. He also said had lots of supporters to back him.

In Salakati,two aspirant including existing BTC executive member Derhasat Basumatary and new face Malati Rani Narzary,former women wing president of BPF were also submitted application seeking party ticket.In Bhaukungri,existing MCLA Doneswar Goyary and fresh candidate Uma Rani Basumatary,secretary of BPF women wing while Baganpara constituency saw five application including existing MCLA Munsing Brahma submitted applications to the party high command seeking tickets to contest council election.

The Mwihur International Theatre Festival has ended in Kokrajhar, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The seven-day festival took place at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari.
