Peace rally

Thousands of activists of People Co-ordination for Democratic Rights(PCDR) and students union participated in the peace rally with banner,festoone and placards today in Kokrajhar town in protest against massacre of Adivasi peoples in December 23 last where over 80 peoples lost lives.

The rally was started from Kokrajhar anchalik ABSU office via JD Road,Santinagar,DC office road and concluded at Rashmela ground.

The PCDR demanded steps to check violence created by armed militants and create paece and harmony among all sections of community,providing of proper relief and rehabilitation to the violence affected peoples and meet safe and security to the common publics,establishments of fixed police pickets at the affected areas and ensure restoration of peace and unity in the region.

Rwngwra Narzary,chief co-ordinator of PCDR while participating the rally said that peoples should be given safe and security among society.He has demanded violence fafected peoples shold get proper relief materials and rehabilitation so that they can re-established their livings in the region.

In a tragic road accident that occurred in the Jalukbari area of Guwahati seven engineering students died at spot last night. According to reports, a group of 10 Assam Engineering College (AEC) students traveled in a scorpio car. A Special Leave Petition under Article 136 of the Constitution of India has been filed in the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India by advocate Arif Jwadder.
