Poachers have killed a rhinoceros and a forest guard at an encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi national park on Wednesday. The encounter took place early in the morning where four poachers faced the forest guard after they killed a full grown rhino.
Identified as Sushil Seal, he was a home guard who was killed during the cross fire between the poachers and the forest guard. A Mk 1 .303 rifle, one pistol and cartridges have also been recovered from the spot.

TANGLA: A local court in Tangla sent a senior teacher to jail in Panery after he allegedly attempted to rape a student sending anger in the entire area. He is non other than Nagen Kumar, who teaches in Phulkuchi Middle English. He tried to molest the student of class eight on December 8 last. GOLAGHAT: A local court in Golaghat sent Subir Roy and Damir Roy to jail on Thursday a day after they shot at six of their tea garden workers for demanding wages. Police arrested the owner duo of the tea garden near Numligarh hours after the incident triggering anger among the workers who called district bandh on Thursday. They fired upon a group of workers when they demanded wages and bonus which they have not received. One worker received sustained injury while five others received mild injury who have been admitted in the Golaghat Civil Hospital.
