ULFA rebels on Monday revealed that the outfit had a plan to create a circle of intellectuals to carry forward the armed struggle from an independent Assam.
Responding to a few questions posed to the former rebels by the audience in the panel discussion titled “In the Shadow of Gun: Literature from a Conflict Zone” moderated by Arindam Barkataky on the last day of the Guwahati Lit Fest, rebel turned poet Kamal Kachari said that the outfit facilitated a group of leaders concentrated on it with the belief that intellectuals are required to make the struggle a success.
The panelists agreed that only a negotiation is required to solve the problems confronting Assam and its people.
