Dispur on Friday deplored that the state has attracted investment commitments of nearly Rs 26,000 crore under North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (NEIIPP).
Industry minister Pradyut Bordoloi informed the Assembly saying the it would result in revenue deficit for the state. He said, " Rs 25,780 crore worth of entrepreneur memoranda have been signed since the implementation of the NEIIPP."
According to him, "the Centre suddenly stopped the scheme at a time when the investment was going up an up. But Union industry minister Nirmala Sitharaman earlier told us that the finance ministry had informed that they cannot give subsidy due to revenue deficit of the Centre."
