After years of will-it-won’t-it, the Centre finally has suspended the North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy-2007 from December 1. Ministry of commerce & industry confirmed it with a formal circular issued a few days back.
Dispur reacts sharply after it received the formal announcement. According to industry minister Pradyut Bordoloi, the Centre susupended it bereft of any reason.
He dare BJP MPs from the North East, including Union Ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Kiren Rijiju to raise their voice in the interest of the region.
He told reporters that it would have adverse impact on the investment climate in the region. Bordoloi said that the state government would protest against it.
