Minutes after the 8-hour long CBI interrogation in Kolkata on Wednesday, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma alleged a nefarious political conspiracy behind the Saradha scam where his name mires in controversy.
Immediately after coming out of the CGO Complex in the evening, the former minister said raised doubts on the veracity of Sudipto Sen’s purported letter.
“He might be a political leader who targeted a circle of leaders from all parties. I told the CBI officials that Sen could not have written the letter,” he told reporters who were waiting outside the CBI office till the evening.
“The CBI has not summoned the powerful political figures for interrogation,” he said adding that he was a small fry and “ I am no longer powerful since Gaurav Gogoi’s foray into the politics.”
