Smiling Gogoi talks to children

Assam joins Children’s Day to mark Nehru’s 125-th birth anniversary on Friday along with other parts of the country. Chief minister Tarun Gogoi interacted with over 200 selected children in Guwahati at a glittering function at the Sarusajai Sports Comple in the morning.

Before that immediately after arriving at the stadium, the chief minister walked to the children and then he shook his hands with each of them who were waiting for him from 8 in the morning.

Gogoi in his speech announced a slew of measures for the disadvantaged children and students saying that his government will try its level best to ensure safety and security of these children.

Drawing, dance and music competitions were also organized in the function organized in a big by the Congress government for the first time since Tarun Gogoi took over as chief minister in 2001. Reports of children’s day celebrations are pouring in from all districts and sub divisions.
