Bhupen Hazarika Memorial Lecture on Nov 5

On the occasion of the death anniversary of Asom Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika, the ‘3rd Dr Bhupen Hazarika Memorial Lecture’ will be held on November 5, 2014 at Halleswar Uttar Anchalik Sanskritik Sangha  Auditorium at Tezpur from 3 pm onwards.

The programme is organized jointly by Information and Public Relations Department along with the District Administration, Sonitpur.

This year, the Memorial Lecture will be delivered by eminent writer, critic and litterateur Ratna Ojha on the topic, ‘The Legacy of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva and Legendary Personae Dr Bhupen Hazarika’.

Minister for Information and Public Relations, Basanta Das will inaugurate the Memorial Lecture; while Rajen Borthakur, MLA, Tezpur and Prithviraj Rabha will grace the programme as guests of honour.

Distinguished persons like Durlav Saikia, Dr Lakhsmi Goswami, Nripen Hazarika and Sudakshina Sarma, who were close to Dr Bhupen Hazarika, will be felicitated in the programme.

To commemorate the day, a singing competition of Dr Bhupen Hazarika’s songs will be organized among school children wherein 350 students from 17 schools will participate.

Director of Information and Public Relations, Ranjit Gogoi and Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur, Lalit Gogoi have cordially invited all to make the programme a grand success.
