Police have arrested a hardcore NDFB-S militant who is believed to have exploded the recent powerful bomb in Sonitpur district. Identified as Babu Basumatary, the militant was picked up this morning in Dhubri during an intensified operation. Acting on a tip off, police conducted a search operation at Bilasipara area where the militant was picked up. A pistol and a few rounds of bullets have been recovered from his possession. Interrogation is going on. At least seven people including a tea garden official sustained serious injury when NDFB-S militants lobbed the powerful grenade at a public place in Itakhula along the Assam-Nagaland border.
