Six years have passed since the gory serial blast on October 30 claimed at least 100 people in three places. But the memories are still fresh in the minds. Guwahatians on Thursday evening thronged under the Ganehsguri fly over in the evening to pay home to the departed souls.
Same it was in Panbazar where the lawyers paid their tributes to their three colleagues who lost their lives in the blast that rocked the CJM court premises on that day.
Talking to Assam Times in Ganeshguri, the relatives rued that they have yet to get full compensation from the government. “Whenever this day comes Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi visits this place to pay his homage, he promises us to do the needful and washes his hands off. But the government has yet to fulfill its promises,” said one of the relatives of deceased.
Similar homage was paid to the blast victims in Kokrajhar, Chirang and Barpeta Road where people thronged the spots to pray to the god.
