Udalguri students visit histirical sites
Fifteen students and two teachers of Udalguri district returned after successful completion of a 11 days National Integration Educational cum Recreational Tour of the cities of Jaipur, Alwar and Jodhpur on Wednesday.
The National Integration Tour, under the aegis of the Red Horns Division of the Indian Army was flagged off from the banks of river Golandi on 11 Oct 14. For the young students, many of them from remote villages of Udalguri, it was a sojourn to the land of Forts, Palaces and Kings.
The enthusiastic children got an opportunity to see the famous Jai Mahal, Umed Bhawan Palace, Amer Fort and even the Sariska Tiger Reserve Forest to name a few.
At Jaipur, the students also got an opportunity to visit the Raj Bhawan and interact with the Honorable Governor of Rajasthan Kalyan Singh. The Children reached back to Udalguri on the day of Diwali and a grand reception was organised for them later on 24 Oct 14 at Rangiya. Here the students interacted and were felicitated by the GOC of the Gajraj Corps in a brief ceremony.
The enthusiastic children were all praise for such an adventurous trip organised for them and were eager to share their wonderful experience. The students admitted that the tour was enlightening and they would always cherish the memory of this tour which helped them to get to know about the rich diversity and culture of our nation.
