Incidents of racist attack on the north east people refuse to die down. Goons in Gurgaon assaulted two youths from Nagaland on Thursday a day after a Manipur student was beaten up by local youths in Bangore.
The fresh incident took place at Gurgaon where over ten local goons caught Awang and Chester in Sikanderpur area and mercilessly beat up with cricket bats and hockey sticks.
According to the complaint, a few youths took them to a nearby market at around 1 midnight to be beaten up. Their hairs were cut off and asked them to leave the area along with their friends. Later the duo were rushed to a nearby Civil Hospital where they have been undergoing treatment.

Tension prevails in Chirang a day after unidentified miscreants kidnapped 4 persons of a family at gunpoint. The Assam government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the recent incident in Azara where two women from Kokrajhar were found dead. The duo were believed to have died under mysteriour circumstances and the bodies were recovered beside the railway track at Jogipara in the outskirt of Guwahati. The brief silence is over. BTAD areas seem to have erupted in violence forcing the authority to clamp curfew on Thursday. Violence took its worse turn during the 24 hour lower Assam bandh on Wednesday demanding exclusion of Non Boro areas from BTAD. A string of group clashes marred the bandh call leaving two dead and several others injured. The clashes broke out in Baska when a group of people forced some shops to open. These have forced the administration to step up security in the entire Baska district.

Participating at a tributery function under the Ganesguri flyover, chief minister Tarun Gogoi urged the people to stand united against terrorism. Bad news for nature lovers. A wild elephant found dead of electrocution on Tuesday night. The tragic incident took place at Sonari in Sivasagar at night when a heard of wild elephants came to the are in quest io search of food. A small group of these elephant came to Joboka tea estate where the incident took place. The carcass was spotted in the morning. But it took nearly 5 hours for the forest officials to reach the spot.

Three persons were killed and atleast 20 others have been injured when a passenger bus collided its head on a tanker in Nagaon district. The incident took place on the National Highway 37 in Roha at 2 am, where a Guwahati bound passenger bus from Tinsukia collided head on a standred tanker. The of the passengers died on the spot while the injured have been rushed to the hospital.
