Two probes will ascertain the truth behind the allegations of police excess on the flood-hit people in Goalpara district on Wednesday.
Sources told Assam Times that the government has ordered two separate probes into the distribution of poor quality relief materials and alleged police atrocities on flood-hit people in the flood-hit district.
A magistrate will probe the allegations of distribution of sub standard materials among the marooned people. A DIG would probe the allegations of police excess on the flood hit people on Wednesday.
The government ordered the probes a day after at last ten flood hit people sustained injury when policemen sprang upon them at Bolbola area when they blocked the National Highway 37 alleging sub standard relief material.
