Assam proud of Goswami for Mangalyaan

India has scripted history by successfully placing its spacecraft in orbit around Mars, becoming the first country in the world to succeed in such an inter-planetary mission in the maiden attempt  itself. At 7

.17 am, the 440 Newton Liquid Apogee Motor (LAM) sizzled with life as it burnt along with the thrusters to slow down the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) spacecraft to be captured by the Red Planet.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greets Dr. Jitentranath Goswami, one of the leading scientist of the Mars mission present in ISRO’s control room in Banglore and thanked for his contribution. Modi has met  ISRO scientists in Dr Goswami is the director of Physical Research Laboratory in Ahmadabad. Mr. Modi was present in ISRO to witness this success and shook hands with scientists after the success. This Indian

institute is associated with various space research and plans for  ISRO. Dr. Goswami was born in 1950 in  Jorhat and studied physics in Cotton College and Gauhati University. He was the Principal Scientist of Chandrayaan-1 too.

With this success India becomes the first country to enter the Mars orbit on a maiden mission. It becomes the first Asian country and ISRO the fourth space agency to send a satellite to the Red Planet. US,  Russia and European Space Agency probes have managed to orbit or land the planet, but after several attempts.

China and Japan lunched spacecraft to the Red planet earlier but failed. From President Pranab Mukherjee to NASA, all came out with praise for ISRO after it successfully placed its Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) spacecraft in the Red Planet's orbit on the very first attempt.

"Hearty congratulations & best wishes to ISRO Team on Mangalyaan's success; nation proud of this historic achievement," the President tweeted. Noting the ‘landmark occasion’ for India, Vice President  Hamid Ansari said he joins "the entire country in saluting them  (scientists) on their success".

In her message commending the ISRO scientists, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that the achievement  would be a source for inspiration "for generations to come". She added that it was the "courage, passion and imagination" of the team of space scientists and researchers led by ISRO Chairman Dr K Radhakrishnan which had made the mission a success.
NASA, which has just launched its own MAVEN mission to the Red Planet, also congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the feat.

CERN will give update very soon on search for ‘God particle’. The elusive particle which is the theoretical missing link in the standard model of physics believed to be what gives objects mass. The European Organisation for Nuclear Research said few days ago it may announce on 4 July whether tests with its atom- smasher have found the elusive particle. The theory behind so called God particle is that mass does not derive from particles but less, if it all, with others. Researchers at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) are using their Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world's biggest particle accelerator, to try to prove that the mystery particle really exists....
The northeastern Indian city Guwahati must have contributed to the Black Carbon (BC) pollutants which is responsible for glacier melting in the Himalayas. Guwahati, the capital city of Assam, adjacent to Bhutan as well as the eastern Himalayas probably accelerated BC concentration to melt glaciers in the region, scientists say. The city is situated on the bank of the Brahmaputra and the BC pollutant emitted from the city effects the Brahmaputra Valley already. The Brahmaputra River Valley (BRV) of Southeast Asia recently has been experiencing extreme regional climate change in the recent years and the carbon emission in Guwahait, the largest city in the valley, is mostly responsible for the...
