The stages are set. Come September 10. Assam Women’s University will begin its classes. The first academic session will initially include graduate and post-graduate courses. The subjects include Travel and Tourism, Mass Communication, Business Management, Information and Computer Science, Cultural Studies and Fine Arts, Fashion Design and Technology, English and Psychology. The classes would take place at the old campus of the Grain Storage Research Institute of AAU in Rowriah. Assam Agricultural University officials have been conducting the admission and recruitment of teaching staff at the initial stage. The authorities have already recruited 16 assistant professors. AAU Vice-Chancellor Dr KM Bujarbaruah has been looking after the entire matters till the appointment of the first vice-chancellor of the women’s university.
