Minor raped in Lakhimpur

Yet another incident of rape heads the state’s head in shame. The perpetrators have been arrested. But the victim’s condition is critical.

The gory incident took place in Lakhimpur district on Monday forcing the various parties and organizations to demand exemplary punishment for the culprits.

A Six-year old girl rape to be dumped in a critical condition near the Sundiri river at Pub Chandmari under Lakhimpur Sadar police station in the morning.

Acting on a missing complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, police swung into action police rescued the minor girl in critical condition to be referred to Gauhati Medical College Hospital. Police, further, arrested two neighbours Sahabuddin and Nekibuddin in this connection.

She was seriously injured with marks on her entire body and forehead and she had bled heavily.
