The Hailakandi district administration has suspended at least 30 school teachers alleging dereliction in their duties.
This was followed by serving show cause notice to deputy inspector of schools Nripen Das and block education officer Arun Singh for failing to rein in these teachers.
The strict action took place when deputy commissioner Shamsher Singh was on his surprise visit to the Lakhirbond High Madrassa where 15 teachers were found absent.
This has come a day after education minister Borodoloi gave hint of stern action against a section school teachers were delegating their work to others for commission.
