SC to hear NRC petition on Monday

The Supreme Court is expected to make a landmark judgment on Monday on steps to update NRC which help Assam detect and deport the Bangladeshi immigrants.

A division bench of the apex court comprising Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice MY Eqbal is all set to the take up the petition bearing No 274/2009 moved by Assam Public Works demanding judiciary’s intervention to update the Nation Registrar of Citizens.
