Dispur is all set to resume the NRC works which would help the state detect the immigrants.
After formally accepting the modalities for updating the NRC prepared by the state government, the Centre has already released Rs.144 crore to the state for the project.
Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami is expected to clear all the hurdles during his proposed visit the state next week.
During his visit, Goswami is set to hold a few rounds of meetings with top civil and officials, political parties and organizations to take stock of updating the NRC.
