Mahanta sticks to resignation

Prafulla Kumar Mahanta made it plain and simple that he won’t take back the resignation he tendered as party president on Monday.

Senior AGP leaders told Assam Times that despite requests from a circle of senior party leaders, the two time chief minister refused to do it.

According to them, a circle of party leaders and workers blamed it all on Mahanta for the recent poll debacle. They want Mahanta to quit the post of party president.

“That’s why, Mahanta sticks to his stand,” said a few close associates of the founder party president.
