KMSS, who has been spearheading the protest threatens to go for a mass agitation if the authorities fail to halt. AASU also strongly criticized the Centre for move in haste. The students’ body threatens to stage satyagraha on Monday in protest against the move.

Asom Gana Parishad is also up in arms against the steps to resume work in Gerukamukh. The has called it an act of deceit on the people of Assam.
