A simultaneous drive to evict the illegal settlers in the Guwahati hilltops is underway.
Consisting of executive magistrates, GMDA, GMC officials along with security forces, the specially setup teams launched the operation in 377 vulnerable spots where the settlers have been asked to come down from the hill tops within 24 hours.
Many huts and buildings have been demolished during the full scale eviction drive. The district administration has further setup some refugee camps for the displaced people.
