NRC updating in Kokrajhar

There are 53 local register of citizenship registration(LRCR) have been set up in the district to initialization of updating of NRC and the actual works of updation will start soon.

Nitin Khade,Kokrajhar deputy commissioner while addressing a peace meeting convened by district administration at DC office conference hall on Wednesday where representatives from various organizations like ABSU, AASU,AAMSU, ABMSU, AASAA, Bodo Sahitya Sabha, All Bodo Women Welfare Federation(ABWWF), BPF,Congress,senior citizens and members from various NGOs participated and discussed on various issues pertaining to the district. Khade said the district administration is prepared to update of NRC in the district as the government directed to start works and all stepes will be monitored in three functionings like ditsrict register of citizenship registration(DRCR),circle register of citizenship registration(CRCR) and  local register of citizenship registration(LRCR) through which identification and registration be sustained in successful.

He said the process of the updation of NRC would be implemented through the guidelines which will be available from government in building mass awareness about the NRC. He said the updation of NRC will be competed in three years beginning this year of which all formats will be distributed among citizens in the distrit within short period.He said the district administration have been set up 53 LRCR in village level to monitore the updation of NRC.He said the updation of NRC would be done under the guidelines of the government and all stepps while executing in the process will be effective through supervision of the proper agenda and it would not be any hurt to any community or individuals. Khade has urged all organistaion, parties and social organisations to cooperate in bringing successful of the updtaions of NRC in the district as well across the state.

Former president of Kokrajhar district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, Binati Bala Basumatary resigned from her party membership on Monday.  Basumatary submitted her resignation letter to the state party president citating personal reason . She was Kokrajhar district BJP president for 2011-2015, who had gained strength of the party through her strong leadership in the district. Basumatary's quit of the party ahead assembly election would draw a set back party strength in the Kokrajhar. Three cadres of the NDFB(S) were arrested by security forces in a joint operation belonging to police and army at Hakata village under Barama PS in Baksa district on Sunday. The cadres were identified as Jwangsar Boro @ KK, Mohit Mushahary and Pramod Ramchiary @ Khankari @Raja   of Baksa district. They were actively involved in extortion, arms smuggling and other nefarious and anti national activities and Adivasi carnage in December(2014) and had run away and sheltered themselves in Chennai, till their return.
