As many as 22 dissident MLAs called on senior AICC leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and Dr CP Joshi seperately in New Delhi on Wednesday where the recent Lok Sabha polls dominated the discussion.
Led by former minister Abdul Muhib Mazuddar, the dissidents have told media that they have not blamed it all on the leadership for the debacle.
But they were beleived to have expressed quite dissatisfaction over Tarun Gogoi as chief minister. They tried to convince the former Union health minister that if Gogoi is allowed to continue then the party will have to face the music in the assembly polls in 2016.
Azad is one of the 3-member panel set up to deal with the issue. CP Joshi and Motilal Vhora are two other members who would submit their findings before Sonia Gandhi by the first week of June.
The trio met Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Sunday and Monday during Gogoi’s brief visit to Delhi after offering to quit.
