Dissidence: Sonia sets up panel

Sonia Gandhi steps in to mend the deepening differences within the Congress Legislative party.

In a bid to end the dissidence problem, the Congress president has set up a three member panel to look into the problem confronting the Tarun Gogoi goverment.

Consisting of Dr CP Joshi, Motilal Vhora and Dr Gulam Nabi Azad, the three member panel is scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on June 5.

The panel is expected to submit the findings by mid-June. Gandhi will take her final call on the basis of the report.

The decision was taken hours after the APCC scrapped the proposed extended executive meeting slated for May 29.
