Poll counting underway

Amid an elaborate security arrangement counting of Lok Sabha poll is underway in the state along with other parts of the countryon Friday.

Polling authorities have opened the strong rooms in the district and sub divisional headquarters at 8 in the morning to begin the counting process across the state. The votes sealed in the electronic voting machines were taken for counting as soon as the counting of postal ballots were over.

The results of the entire 14 Lok Sabha constituencies are expected to be available by 3 in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, the strong room premises are teeming with security forces, poll officials along with the political leaders, candidates and their representatives from early in the morning.

The authorities in each of the counting stations have deployed huge signboards to publicly update the trends and results. This is apart from deployment of sound system to announce the trends and results.
