Michigan Rongali Bihu 2014

Rongali Bihu in Michigan, USA was celebrated on April 26 at St. Peter & Paul Syrian Orthodox Church Southfield, MI. Around 70 people attended the event. This event consisted of two parts. First part was kids program which included various interesting games. Second part - the cultural show was inaugurated by the lighting of the diyas by Dr. Prafulla and Manjula Baruah, followed by "Srimoy Oxomir" sung by some of the AAMI ladies.. AAMI members whole heartedly participated in it with remarkable performances which include singing song, Bihu dance, Husori, solo dance, standup comedy and a skit. 

Earlier in the evening, guests were served with some delicious authentic Assamese homemade snacks - ‘Til Pitha’, ‘Ghila Pitha’, ‘Nimkis’, ‘Ladu’, ‘Doi Chira’ etc. prepared by AAMI ladies. In the night typical Indian style dinner was served.
